Last week I’ve attend to Cloudviews 2009 – Cloud Computing Conference at ISEP in Oporto.
It was with surprise that I realize this conference would take place in my town because most of the international events happen in Lisbon. Maybe because the team at Cloudviews is somehow related with ISEP.
The mains theme of the conference was “To Cloud or not to Cloud” and all the speakers tried their best to answer this question.

In general I think the conference was well organized but I was hopping to see more people attending it. Some of the speakers were from well known companies in the IT industry like Salesforce, IBM, Amazon or even OpenID and got surprise when I realize this was a free conference with free lunch (very nice btw) and snacks

I just subscribed the Cloud Computing Daily Views and I want to congratulate the team for their dedication and talent. Hope to see you in the next year!

Jolicloud is a internet operating system with focus on the social networks apps and cloud computing!

It’s based on Ubuntu Linux (Remix) and is compiled to be installed in netbooks. They have a full list of compatible devices and you can also check out some screenshots.

De agora em diante vou passar a escrever aqui em inglês. Foi uma opção bastante ponderada, mas penso que é a melhor forma de treinar a minha escrita na língua anglo-saxónica. De resto é uma opção que faz todo o sentido pois ultimamente tenho redigido os meus twitter nesse idioma e além do mais todo o meu software também é inglês!

Como há cerca de um mês passei a hospedar todos os meus sites num serviço diferente (depois de passar pelo Aptana Cloud fixei-me no SliceHost) aproveitei a ocasião para centralizar o meu conteúdo e para dar um retoque no design!

Com estas alterações irei também retirar o blog do Planetuga (pois não se enquadra no espírito) mas não se assustem, manterei a minha participação lá!
Prometo de agora em diante começar a escrever mais, nem que sejam artigos mais rápidos e simples!

Pode parecer incrível mas ontem à noite o meu nome apareceu por 1 segundo numa reportagem do Jornal da Noite.
Era uma reportagem sobre Viciados no computador e usaram algumas imagens do Sapo Codebits (1ª edição, visto ter sido a única em que participei).

Parece que na altura ainda estava preso ao Windows XP e estava à conversa com a Carla Azevedo que era minha colega de trabalho no Millennium BCP. Por detrás ainda dá para ver um pedaço de código do projecto sobre iCalendar que apresentei juntamente com o Jorge Gomes.

Deixo aqui o vídeo para a posteridade onde aparece a imagem aos 4 segundos. Resta-me agradecer ao Joel Calado que com a sua visão de águia descobriu uma agulha num palheiro e fez-me recordar o evento.

UPDATE: afinal o portátil não é o meu mas o do Jorge. Estávamos era numa conversa a 3!
